FROM
BOCCA DI MAGRA TO PORTOFINO, TREKKING BETWEEN SEA AND CULTURE
All
the coast-line from Bocca di Magra (Km.3 from our house) to Portofino can be
considered a real open-air naturalistic laboratory.
The tourists can organize their own walking itinerary from the start of the
high coast to the mouth of the
Magra river, crossing “Monte Marcello” and then down to Lerici, Le Cinque
Terre , San Fruttuoso Portofino and perhaps even to Genoa.

Along
the numerous signed paths You meet different kind of woods, typical
Mediterranean vegetation, continental type woods and a particular geology which
is evident in the cliffs overhanging the sea.

The
feeling and the sight of the hills overhanging the sea gives You a splendid
choreography like an intensively rare picture drawn by a romantic artist. It is
worth a visit to these pearls of Liguria.
Houses and paths suspended between sky and land are a unique natural
uncontaminated view of places still
holding
to their marine tradition.
Classic
trekking routes such as the crossing of the “Cinque Terre” enables You to
visit all the five characteristic villages
that give the name to the most famous and beautiful of the ligurian spots (Riomaggiore,
Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso)
. The complete circle of the Palmaria
Isle which winds along typical paths crossing terraces of vineyards put
up by men over the centuries, is another interesting trekking itinerary.
Daily
boat cruises are organized from Marina di Carrara.
ALONG THE
PATHS OF THE LIGURIAN COAST-LINE,
DISCOVERING THE PORTOFINO NATURALPARK AND ITS
ANCIENT STONE VILLAGES
Here
like in the Cinque Terre nature is the most important element and there is still
an ancient flavour. It is possible to go on naturalistic itineraries well shown
by signs all along the route, by Yourself or
enquiring
at organizations on the spot about guided tours. The panoramic paths lead to
the suggestive, splendid Abbazia di San Fruttuoso, from which You can walk
or
go by boat to Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure.
